I came across quite a few blogs that recently featured few tools to speed up acrobat reader but I didn't bother much as my computer is doing good to cope up the Adobe reader. Unfortunately, one of my RAM sticks was malfunction and was running on single 256MB (it's supposed to be 1.25 Gb) and this thing really brought my computer to its knees. Before I put in a new RAM stick, I decided to put a try on Adobe Reader SpeedUp to see how it measures up to the expectation.

Basically, this small software accelerates Adobe reader by removing few plugins that are loaded during startup. You can either choose the speed up mode or you can manually select which plugin not to be loaded. "Plugin help" is available to make sure that you don't accidentally turn off the required plugins. I've been using fast mode ever since its first run and it works like a charm; the initialization takes fraction of its original loading time.
Troubleshooting
So far, it has been a great software for speeding up my acrobat reader. In case you are running into a problem, this would be the best place to look for.
