simple remove it from the startup with CCLEANER UNDER START UP THEN RESTART THE PC REMOVE ALL UKNOWN START UP PROGRAMS THEN INSTALL AVAST FROM AVAST.COM
SCAN PC AFTER INSTALLATION YOU WILL BE ASKT TO SCAN PC SAY YES THEN REMOVE ALL VIRUSES TO DELETE HAVE FUN

i have just removed the removal 2008 with alot of pain the ass ,only one thing helped me use the Malwarebyte its free and easy.

Install Malware Bytes, it is free and works great against all derivatives. XP Antivirus, Antivirus 2008, Antivirus 2009

I am infected and I already had those two installed–and now they are not working! Have the creators gotten smarter and figured out some way to disable those programs? Any ideas as to what to do?

Yup, previously even I got infected with this one. I tried almost every branded antiviruses including Norton, Avast, Avira, Panda, McCafe, but just to my surprise none of them became able to clean that. finally I googled this, and got two antispywares, (1) Malwarebyte (2) SuperAntiSpyware. SuperAntiSpyware removed that permanently. I would suggest Malwarebyte and SuperAntiSpyware for this.

Just my 2 paise…

for removing the wallpaper.. well, first thing, i dont think its a wallpaper at all.
move your mouse to the the top of your screen. and u’ll see a dock appear.. (tadaaa!!).. just click the close button and the “wallpaper” (its a window damn it!) will disappear..abracadabra..

well if it didnt work.. am sorry for u. tsk tsk.

am not a fake helper btw.. but am a fake hen, yes. :D

I think I’ve removed the bug, using RougRemover and Threatfire….but I still can’t change my desktop back to normal! When I right-click on my desktop and select “properties”, my desktop background options are no longer there. Please help!

I was infected with a similar thing before. Spyware Doctor took care of that
