48,000 K on memory. (not much more than the YM! 8.x if I remember) I think the increase in memory usage comes from the added inline video, pics & maps. Not the new gfx display, 98% of the theme in done in .PNG format leading to smaller file sizes, added built-in transparency, & with no degration in image quality due to compression.

for example:
(200px x 200px, 72px/in., picture of yard grass)

(*.bmp) True Lossless | No Transparency
= 76 KB

Portable Network Graphics
(*.png) Lossless | With Transparency
= 53 KB

CompuServe Graphics Interchange
(*.gif) Lossy | With Transparency
= 25 KB

Joint Photographic Experts Group Interchange Format
(*.jpg, *.jif, *.jpeg) Lossy | No Transparency
= 8 KB @ 20% compression (standard)
= 26 KB @ 1% compression (as lossless as it gets, you can still tell)

I’ve tried this new version of YM..
interface i got to say.. a bit improved..
but it takes a lot of Ram for my laptop..huhuhu

I left YM some 2-3 years back as it was blocked by the firewall in my college.
But now looking at the latest version, I will definitely give it a try after all I am back at home.
