Forward RSS News to Email with RSSFwd

While most people prefer to use RSS aggregator like Google Reader over email subscription, there are times when RSS news delivery via email can prove to be a lot more convenient. This is especially true when you go somewhere where your mobile phone is the only device that can connect you to the whole world. It is also a really good alternative for those who do not know what RSS is or for those who hate to find RSS link in a website (not placed in prominent place).

RSS Fwd is a web service that finds XML content and delivers the news to your email.

The subscription is easy as suggested by the above picture. You just need to fill in website URL you intend to subscribe and if the URL is entered correctly, a preview of latest items will be displayed. To proceed, you just need to enter your email and password (for RSS Fwd subscription management). The frequency delivery can be set to either real time, daily or weekly.

This is another good alternative to Feedburner email subscription if you like new services.

Protect Your Pendrive with USB WriteProtector

I have been using Mx One for quite some time to protect my pendrive from various kind of malicious attempts. Mx One is like any other antivirus systems, it is not foolproof from viruses that keep evolving to bypass the protection.

There is, however, a solution that can keep virtually every attempt made by viruses futile; write - protecting our pendrive. Not like a good old 1.44 MB diskette that can be write-protected mechanically by using a small latch at the bottom of it, only few pendrive that has the same feature like the old floppy diskette.

Gmail Introduces Voice and Video Chat

Google recently announced video and voice chat feature for Gmail. It is different from any other similar application because it does not need any third party software to make it works. Instead, you are only required to install a small browser plugin. This new functionality works well on Windows XP, Windows Vista, and OS X. It supports most of the major browsers like Firefox, Internet Explorer and Chrome.

To get started, first you need to install the plugin. To initiate a video conversation, just hit the "Video & more" menu at the bottom of your Gmail chat window, and choose "Start video chat". For resizing you just need to click on the popup icon to make the video larger or alternatively you can simply click the full screen icon in the top left corner.

Unlock All Protected Window 7 Features with Blue Badge

Windows 7 pre-beta build which was released recently had some features locked. Those features like the new taskbar (superbar), panning, gestures and Desktop Slideshows are the things that will give new user interface to Windows 7. Subscribing to many blogs is one way of learning latest buzz around the net. Another way of making sure you won't miss anything is by subscribing to Google Alerts. Google Alerts can be utilized to keep ourselves updated about particular topics by specifying related keywords and the alerts will be sent right into your mailbox. It is a good service but what makes it even better now is because it supports feed services (You can opt to receive alerts via the feed reader of your choice rather than your email!).

Once you sign in to Google Alerts and create an alert, you can opt for feed delivery by clicking 'Edit' next to your alert on the 'Manage Your Alerts' page and changing your 'Deliver to' selection from 'Email' to 'Feed'.

Regardless of whatever language is written in an article, you can still understand it by running a translator.
