Stumble upon an inspiring logo but clueless about font being used on the beautifully crafted logo? Or perhaps you might wonder what font is being used on Google logo? To recognize precisely what fonts being used on an image is almost impossible as there are enormous number of fonts in existence and they keep counting.

WhatTheFont provides the solution towards this problem. All you need to do is upload an image file to its server where the image will be scanned and matched with its database. The maximum size for an image is 360 x 275 pixels, so make sure to resize it before uploading. It doesn't have to be a high quality image (although that will definitely help). If you want to get more information and tips about this service, visit its usage notes.

But hey, what if WTF can't find you the closest match of your font? Head straight on to the WhatTheFont forum to get more assistance.

Do you have any trouble in picking up the best color combination for your design? Dropping by some blogs and websites but none catches your attention. It happens once in a while if not often to many designers or whoever that love to design. Speaking of lack color harmonies, Adobe Kuler might be a good place to be to rejuvenate your inspiration and expanding your horizon in designing.

Basically Kuler is slick, Flash-based web application and it exists to help you in building color schemes for whatever you're trying to design. There are vast combinations to choose from. You may get into each and every color combination by category (i.e. newest, top rated etc); so you don't have to waste your time to scrutinize everything inside Kuler. More interesting, though, is kuler's social aspect: If you create an account and log in you can save and share your color themes with other users, and rate the themes others have created.

Since this website gets daily updates you may not want to miss it. While conventional feed is a good option that many people will opt in, you may also get Kuler Desktop to do the chore. The kuler desktop displays RSS feeds of color themes from kuler. You can search thousands of themes by tag, title, or creator ID. You can also browse the newest, highest rated, and most popular color themes and easily copy hex values from any theme to your clipboard.

Me: It helps me alot in the completion of my wordpress themes.

The inventory is relatively small compared to other websites of its kind but this website is worth to be bookmarked because the tutorials in this website are top-notch and truly awesome.

The update is claimed to be done on daily basis, so I hope more quality tutorials to come and be sure to subscribe to its feed. You can sign up to this website either and favorite the tutorials of your choice under your account. Anyway I don't really like its favorite system because it can only save up to 9 tutorials but let's give it some space to grow in size and fill up any discrepancies.

I'm pretty sure, it can be done by using adobe photoshop and can be downsized later to the standard dimension (81x15), but I'm not really good at it and never put a try on it. I never knew what it's called, until I stumbled upon TenthofMarch where the author of this blog mentioned about Lucazappa website that provides antipixel button generator. I search for more generators on the net and found few more. Ok here it goes:

1. Pixel Button

Web 2.0 design is becoming more prominent and predominant in the internet; reflected by the abundance of Photoshop tutorials on how to achieve web 2.0 design and the steady growth of web 2.0 websites themselves. With such a development, few websites emerge to offer facillities to generate web 2.0 design on the fly. There are 2 websites that give internet users the opportunity to create web 2.0 badge within few seconds (they are free!).

Fresh Badge is a new website that offers wide range of customization to meet customers' expectation. The customization includes the badge shapes, the font effects and colors selection. With only 3 simple steps to be followed, along with little fine tune, you should be able to generate your own web 2.0 badge.

Web 2.0 badges offers similar service with almost the same custamization controls. In addition to that, this page also lists down number of websites that provide tutorials pertaining web 2.0 badge with some freebies to be collected (web 2.0 badges in PSD format).

Have a look at those websites and see what you can reap from there :)

I'm not sure how long they have been around but I didn't notice their existence previously. The first one is the first picture at the top, named Illacrimo. It looks stylish and professional; was designed by Design Disease.

The second one is Leia. I've already modified it to suit my new blog for naruto anime. So what do you think? .

Before I'm talking about sitemap plugin for wordpress, let me explains a little bit what sitemap is all about. Basically, sitemap is a hierarchical visual model of the pages of a website and it help users to navigate through a website that has more than one page by showing users a diagram of the entire site's contents (analogous to book's table of content).

Sitemap file is essential as far as search engines are concerned as it helps to speed up the discovery of your pages. However, there are few other factors that influence the crawling process like number of backlinks pointing to your website, uniqueness and relevancy of your content and few other things.

So, sitemap file has SEO-effect on your blog by making sure that all the pages in your blog can be found by search engines bots. So in order to create a sitemap file for WordPress blog, you can use Google sitemap generator (this is the plugin that I used for my blog). This plugin will create a compliant sitemap (XML-sitemap) and this format is supported by Google, YAHOO and MSN Search.

Me: I just installed the plugin yesterday, and there seems to be a significant progress in my search engines ranks for "melayu boleh" keyword. I could probably be wrong about this as there are many other factors that affect my blog position. However, this is a useful plugin for your blog after all.

The addition of subtle HTML and CSS styling in your blog is essential as readers might overlook the things that you desperately want them to read. Here are few tricks that you can do to make your blog more appealing and to enhance the visibility of important facts of your posts.

1. Highlighting Important Text Inside HTML Boxes

Lets start with an example. Instead of using mundane exceprt (i.e. "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet...") in this example, I will use my first language for the exceprt in this example ;)

-- Example Begins --

Saya sungguh tertarik dengan long-term goal saudara smartusaha dalam menyahut cabaran Melayu Boleh: Wangcyber SEO challenge. Bermula

-- Example Ends --

Place the following code between the paragraph or wherever you want it to be and it will appear like in the above example.

<div style="width:200px;
height:100px;
float: right;
border-top: 1px solid #000;
border-bottom: 2px solid #000;
padding: 5px;">Sample Text Goes Here.</div>

2. Never use Ampersands or Quotes in Titles

There's nothing wrong with using Ampersand signs (&) or double-quotes(") in your blog titles, but in some cases they may break your social bookmarking URLs. As far as this blog is concerned the "&" will create an error in my feedburner. Luckily the "&" sign resides at lower end of this post, so it won't create the problem. You should use HTML special characters like

&amp;
for & [ampersand]

&quot;
for " [double quote]

&#39;
for ' [single quote]

3. Bullets and Lists are boring, try something different

If you create a list of something you can switch to other fancy bullet style rather than the convetional one. Here's some example that's taken directly from the original post.

» with
&raquo;
| º with
&ordm;
| · with
&middot;

4. Image wrapped around text

Blending image into a lengthy post will enhance readers' comprehension. This can be done by adding the following
style="margin: 0 0 2px 5px; float: right;"
into img tag. For example,

For right alignment -
<img style="margin: 0 0 2px 5px; float: right;" src="file_name_here" />

For left alignment -
<img style="margin: 0 5px 2px 0; float: left;" src="file_name_here" />

I hope this will give your post a better look.
